St. Augustine’s student receives Academic City Presidential Scholarship

Ezekiel Kpodo, a member of the 2023 Sharks Quiz representing St. Augustine Senior High School, has been awarded a full scholarship from Academic City University College, a premium STEAM and Entrepreneurship-based university, for his exceptional academic achievement.

Academic City, known for its commitment to supporting exceptional students and fostering academic achievement, has extended this exceptional opportunity to recognise and reward the efforts of the brightest minds in the Sharks Quiz. The university believes in the power of education to transform lives and is proud to offer a full scholarship to one deserving student from St. Augustine SHS.

The Academic City Presidential Scholarship Award, valued at $40,000, is granted to students in recognition of their exceptional academic achievement coupled with leadership acumen and entrepreneurial spirit. This scholarship is highly sought after and only awarded to the most exemplary and deserving candidates.

The scholarship covers tuition, housing, meals, a laptop computer, a monthly stipend, and twice-yearly transportation to the student’s homeland.

Ezekiel Kpodo will enrol in a four-year BSc in Biomedical Engineering programme.

This year’s Sharks Quiz finalists paid a visit to Academic City in order to become acquainted with the university’s cutting-edge facilities and interact with the staff and faculty. The participants from PRESEC-Legon, St. Augustine’s SHS, Adisadel SHS, and St. Peters SHS were immersed in interactive presentations and participated in a 3D printing workshop as part of the educational sessions planned for them. The students were inspired by the university’s unwavering commitment to innovation, research, and the persistent quest for knowledge. This visit not only highlighted the extraordinary accomplishments of these exceptional individuals but also inspired them to strive for academic excellence.

Presenting the scholarship, Prof. Enoch Opoku Antwi, Dean of Business and Communication Arts at Academic City, remarked, “Academic City is excited to extend this opportunity to an exceptional student from St. Augustine SHS. We are committed to nurturing young talent and providing an inclusive educational experience.”

According to him, the scholarship would significantly assist the student in excelling academically and becoming a future leader in his chosen field.

Academic City will ensure the recipient receives the necessary guidance throughout the admissions process to ensure a seamless transition to higher education.
