The prestigious TEDx platform made its debut at Academic City University with the highly anticipated maiden event, TEDx Academic City University, held under the inspiring theme, “Ripples to Waves: Creating Impact.”
The event, spearheaded by a dedicated team of 24 members and led by Edem Fiifi Dawson as the Main Lead and Nyhira Beata Ackun as the Co-Lead marked the beginning of what promises to be a transformative journey for the university and its community.
The speakers featured prominent speakers such as Cat Davison, Chief Executive Officer of EduSpot and Global Teacher Prize Finalist, Elinam Abla Horgli, an Entrepreneur and Gender Activist, Eve Asante, Managing Director, Managing Director, Asante and Partners and Emmanuel Anti, student of Academic City.
Speaking about the event, Edem Fiifi Dawson, Main Lead of TEDx Academic City University, remarked “This first TEDx Academic City University event is just the start of something bigger. We want it to be a lasting platform where new ideas and great thinking can thrive. We believe that ideas have the power to create change, and today, we have set things in motion, small ripples that will grow into big waves of impact in our community.”
With sponsorship from Voltic Ghana, Brodohene, MWA Studios, and Wafflemania, TEDx Academic City University was a resounding success. The beautifully executed setup created an immersive experience, bringing to life the essence of TEDx – the power of ideas to spark change.
The event’s impact extended beyond the stage, igniting conversations and inspiring attendees to think critically about their roles in creating waves of change in their respective spheres. While this was the first TEDx event at Academic City, it is undoubtedly just the beginning. The success of this inaugural edition sets the stage for future events that will continue to push boundaries and foster intellectual and social transformation.
As TEDx Academic City University takes root, it promises to become a platform where thought leaders, students, and professionals converge to share innovative ideas, challenge perspectives, and drive meaningful impact. The ripples have been created, and the waves of change are just beginning to form.
